Time for Sunflowers

Couldn't resist this
rustic sunflower
birthday card!

Had to repeat the theme
inside too!

New Version of Face Masks

The original version had no nose bridge to pinch.
The second version had a twistie tie covered
with white fabric duct tape as a nose pinch.
This third version in a slightly bigger size
has a plastic nose bridge with double wire
laminated.  I used a zigzag stitch to secure it.

Today's 4th version has the nose bridge
(and a larger size for adults, XL) in
a stitched pocket at the top.
But it also has a slit in the back
for inserting a filter,
This was a request from a grandson who
is returning to college as a senior.

It slides right in.

And will lay flat in the folds

The filter adds extra protection
closer to a N95 mask.

New Cards for July and August Occasions

Birthday wishes with a
new candles die cut

Room for a note and a check\inside!

For a grandson who likes
camp fires and the night sky

I made lots of kits
with this design
and a variety of patterned papers
for our monthly get-together.
We social distanced and
did assembly only, no
sharing of equipment!

One of the kits I made up

A beautiful card with fussy cutting
and laminated paper (mosaic)

More Face Masks for Kids

We made more kids face masks
for two more preschool/daycare centers
in town.

We're making the masks a little bigger
for school age children in their
camp or daycare programs this summer
while their parents work at home
or as essential workers.

This is what we received in return.
Very nice thank you notes!

Notecards with Watercolor Flower Panels

Enjoyed an afternoon of creating a set of notecards
for a neighbor who is moving away.
I used four pastel colors for the front panels.
Then, cut some scalloped ovals from
watercolor paper, stamping them
with an old wood block stamp
and VersaCraft black ink.
I used my watercolors from
Loew Cornell to paint
the flowers to coordinate
with the front panels.
I added a bow from my newly
organized ribbon bins.
So easy to find the right color
when the spools are arranged
by color!

Floral Themes for Cards

I built up this paper pattern by
cutting out multiple blooms to
layer for dimension.

This gray and yellow combo
used florals and plaids
on different panels.
I used the same technique
of cutting multiple blooms
to layer for added dimension.

I used some old stamps to
make my own floral paper.
I kept it one-dimensional
and added a layered panel
and a twill tape tie for dimension.
See below for a close-up.

A diagonal flap gave these
floral papers dimension,
mimicking the
butterfly wings!

A great way to make a pack of
four note cards using supplies
you already have,
some floral patterned paper
and the "trick" of
emphasizing dimension
to make it special.

Some Card-making Activity (even without meeting with the group)

A fun birthday card with a tri-fold for standing on display.

A pop-up birthday card for an 8-year old grandniece.

And a Lego card for her brother, both April birthdays.

Another masculine birthday with "tire tracks" grunge

A really pretty butterfly theme--sideways!

Two get well cards, one very feminine and the other more neutral

Two-year old grand niece's birthday card (sideways again!)

Another bird birthday card (still getting them in sideways)
for a couple of months of a variety of cards going out in the mail.

It's such a good way to stay connected with extended family in a new year!
