April Card-Making Designs

Carol brought a very cute design with a branch and a bird house on an embossed background.
A square and a triangle and a punched out entrance complete the bird's home.
Some dew drops on the leaves and a gold string to hang the house add some glitter.

Sue's design had an intricate rose bloom die cut.
She showed us how to use waxed paper to help loosen the paper from the die cut.

Dianne brought a masculine design/color scheme.
Browns and blues with geometric blocks
and a boldly stamped sentiment
complete the more gender-neutral card.

We were done early because Bonnie was not able to attend.
Next time she'll join us.
What will we create in May?

Making Pillows with Some Scraps

I had some fabric leftover from various projects.  I needed some pillows on my bench in the craft room, so I got busy.

With some Amy Butler fabric and a small pillow form,
I made a pillow with a slip-in back. Notice the back is two pieces!

I pressed the openings down a quarter inch

and then down again 1 inch deep.

Sewed the edge and added some Velcro.
There is a new kind with both sides having hooks and loops.

With right sides together and the back pieces overlapping,
I sewed all around the pillow cover.

Finished back

and front.

The second one was larger,
but made the same way.

Now I can relax on the bench.
Until the next project comes to mind...
